Regional Emergency Operations Plan: August 23, 2006

The Regional Emergency Operations Plan is intended to provide the duties, functions and responsibilities for cooperation between member municipalities of the Central Naugatuck Valley Region in the event of an emergency. The document has been developed in conjunction with each of the local municipal Emergency Operations Plans.

Its goal is to enable member municipalities to maximize the survival of people, minimize or prevent injuries, and preserve property and resources by coordinating and sharing available manpower, equipment and other resources in the event of natural or man-made disasters.

The purpose of this regional emergency operations plan is to:

  • Provide a framework for member municipalities to collaborate in planning, communication, information sharing, and coordination activities before, during, or after a regional emergency;
  • Provide for the integration of resources and capabilities of member municipality governments and private sector for hazard mitigation, survival and recovery operations when any disaster threatens or occurs;
  • Define the role and responsibilities of member municipal governments; and
  • Provide policies and procedures for regional emergency operations.

A copy of the plan is available for review upon request at the COGCNV offices.
